Recently, a nursing home worker in Ohio has been accused of elder physical abuse. The nursing home worker in question is a 28-year-old woman who worked at a nursing home in Fostoria, Ohio.
The 28-year-old woman has been accused of having committed physical abuse against a 94-year-old resident of the nursing home. According to authorities, the alleged physical abuse involved things like pinching the resident's nose and pulling the resident's hair. Authorities claim that the alleged physical abuse occurred on multiple occasions.
Reportedly, the police investigation into the 28-year-old woman's conduct at the nursing home is ongoing.
A criminal charge has been brought against the 28-year-old woman in connection to the above allegations of nursing home abuse. Specifically, the 28-year-old woman has been charged with patient abuse. According to the article on WTOL's website which reported this story, the 28-year-old woman could receive a prison sentence if she is convicted of this charge.
Physical abuse like that alleged in this case can cause nursing home residents to suffer great harm. Thus, one hopes that nursing home workers are held accountable when they commit physical abuse against nursing home residents.
